It has puts everyone in the spirit for end of year Holidays. The annual "Sargent Boat Parade" on November 28, 2020. The first Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year the Sargent Boat parade fun starts at the mouth of Carney Creek at Larry's Bait Camp. To participate Boat Owners can contact Kim Ware 713-829-9746 or Marie Zikuhr 979-245-9876.
Spectators can and should line up along Carney Creek to view the boat parade as it heads North on Caney Creek just after Dark. It is a chance to see and talk to many of your Sargent neighbors. It is fun viewing the boats...
Rainy Start of Summer Season in Sargent
What a week of rain this has been. We have had a bunch of fresh water flowing into East Matagorda Bay from Caney Creek and this should bring about a lot of bait-fish and shrimp in the Bay. Rains welcome the Summer Season and incredible fishing. This should allow contestants in early fishing tournaments such as the START Tournament next week at Hookers to do very well. This is a great local event for Sargent. No guides allowed only amateurs

About 1000 years ago the Colorado River which drains parts of the Hill country and Austin jumped out of its main channel at Glen Floral Texas. Then it headed to the Gulf though Caney Creek.
