Sargent Texas| Rainy weather for Ducks Happy New Year Ducks still quacking in Sargent Texas which has experience some well needed rains the last few weeks. Both the San Bernand Wildlife Preserve and Big Boggy have great conditions. Really helps Children in High School. This is a great event and for a great cause. Great for helping Children and meeting new people.

  The New Sargent Boat Parade Saturday Night on Caney Creek The Boat Parade a colorful success every year. Enjoy the Event this weekend from the shores of Caney Creek. The Boat Parade has become an annual Sargent Event and very successful.      

Sargent Maps and History Way back in 1963 the Army Corp of Engineers decided to cut a channel into the Gulf of Mexico at Sargent. This cut became known as McCabes Cut.  As you can see from this 1944 photograph from the Texas Land office there was already an oxbow lake that is just like Old Dead Caney Creek. McCabes cut was originaly 40 feet wide and 4 feet deep and over the years grew like a monster. The Cut in 1988 was 300 feet wide and 30 feet deep. Sargent Texas News: Sargent Fire Department Great but cook-off last week. A great annual event for Sargent  and the Sargent Fire department plays such a central roll in the protection of Sargent Texas. We thank all of them and support from the Sargent community is widespread.  You can always donate money to them but do it directly at the fire station.
